WOW! What a summer it’s been!
From lock-ins and a mission trip to Wyoming to an incredible week of VBS, the time has finally come for the Youth Group’s last big event of the summer, a week of worshiping our heavenly Father, playing games, and growing closer together. And it all takes place at Lake Geneva Christian Center in Alexandria, Minnesota.
Speaking of Minnesota, we’ll be joining around 1,000 other students and leaders from across the state. Camp is a highlight for so many of our students, and this year we’re bringing 18 students and 4 adult leaders.
There’s something powerful about being in a room with 1,000+ people from across the state, all worshiping and honoring God together. It’s amazing to watch Him move throughout the room, igniting passion and deepening faith. Camp isn’t just about building relationships with each other, it’s a time for students to become bold, passionate, and unwavering in their walk with Jesus.
As a leader, one of the best parts is seeing not only our students but students from other churches catch fire for the Lord and grow in their faith throughout the week.
I think it’s important to go into this week knowing that spiritual moments will happen. We’re praying this won’t just be a fun week of worship, but a launching point for a lasting passion that continues once we return home.
Hebrews 10:24-25 says:
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
I love what this verse is saying. One of the simplest ways we can grow in faith and good works is by gathering together to worship God. When we do, the Holy Spirit fills the room and draws us closer to Him.
We can’t wait to see what the Lord will do in the lives of our students at camp this week. Please be praying that hearts are set on fire for the Lord and that meaningful connections are made, not just within our group, but among the 1,000+ others attending.
