The two delights!

What is your view of how God views you? Do you think you are a constant disappointment to God? 

Have you ever thought that you can delight God and He delights in us?

We should focus on the truth that the Lord delights in us! Delight means to find joy and satisfaction. The Bible states in many places God delights in His children:

1. Psalm 37:23: “The Lord delights in every detail of their lives”

2. Psalm 112:1: “ How joyful are those who fear the Lord and delight in obeying his commands. Their children will be successful everywhere.”

3. Proverbs 11:1: “He delights in accurate weights.” God respects when we are honest.

4. Psalm 35:27: “Great is the Lord, who delights in blessings His servant with peace.” 

5. Proverbs 15:8: “He delights in the prayer of the upright.”

6. Psalm 147:11:  “The Lord’s delight is in those who fear him, in those who hope in His unfailing love.”

7. Psalm 18:19: “He rescued me because He delights in me.”

8. Psalms 149:4: “” God is pleased by our desire to please him and our sincere effort to walk by faith.”

9. Zephaniah 3:17: “ He will take delight in you with gladness.”

You can make God happy! Kevin’s message on October 6th was God is blessed when we bless others. God also blesses us when we bless others. We should delight in performing good works for God.

How else can we delight in Him? Here are some ways we can delight in the Lord: 

1. Delight in the Word: Cherish, read, and honor God's Word. 

2. Delight that God is always with you: Appreciate the way God works in your life and makes you more like Christ when you spend time with Him.

3. Delight in Worship: Thank God for the gift of grace.

4. Delight in Committing yourself to the Lord: Let Him deliver and rescue you.

5. Delight in Prayer: Realize what an amazing gift it is to have a conversation with the creator of the universe.

God’s delight in us is anchored not in what we do but who we are as His children. This unshakeable delight is because we are united to Christ.

God delights when we have a relationship with Him and want to know Him. This is the whole reason Jesus came.

This is something for us to add to our list of things to be thankful for- experience the joy and satisfaction- at this Thanksgiving season.
