Thankful

Fall is my favorite time of the year. I enjoy the colors of the fall season, the foods of a fall harvest, and the anticipation of the holidays. Fall is also a time when I start to reflect on all the good things in my life.

As a church, we have a lot to be thankful for this year. We have been able to watch God work and that is exciting. He is changing lives and we have heard about His work through the testimonies of people who have given their lives to Jesus. We see His provision of a building where people are engaged in worship and fellowship with others. I hope that we all give a prayer of thanksgiving to Him as we see lives changed and growth happening at Westbrook.

I am personally thankful for you. I am thankful for your commitment to Westbrook. I am thankful for the volunteers and leaders who have share their gifts and talents with the church. I am thankful for the various ministry teams and the Outreach team who plan activities and ways for us to give back to Carver Community. And, I am thankful for everyone who participates in giving back.

This fall the Outreach team planned two ways to give back to others. One way was by participating in the Love INC Winter Coat Drive. As a church we donated 162 items to the drive. We gave to them hats, gloves, coats, snow pants, and boots. The other way we are giving back is on an international scale by filling shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. Filling boxes for Operation Christmas Child is a fun way to engage the whole family and give to a child in need. I hope if you have not had a chance to get a box that you will pick one up this Sunday.
