In February of 2020, Westbrook hosted an outreach Family Movie Night at the Chaska Community Center, featuring Frozen II. We had an incredible turnout for that event, and we wanted to keep Movie Night as an annual event. But how do you host a Movie Night amidst a year-long pandemic? Our creative staff figured it out.
On February 19th, 2021, Westbrook hosted an Online Watch Party for our Family Movie Night, featuring Inside Out. This gave families a chance to sit back, relax, and enjoy some time together out of our busy days and schedules.
Westbrook provided snack bags to families, including popcorn packets, popcorn buckets, and movie candy to both in-person attendees and online attendees via staff delivery.
We wanted to continue to reach our community outside our Westbrook doors, so we asked attendees to invite their friends, family, or neighbors to our Movie Night via our movie ticket invites provided in both our Sunday bulletins and to children attending Westbrook Kids.
We had an excellent turnout for our movie night, and it was fun to chat and connect with those who attended the watch party before and after the movie. We look forward to a time when we can get back to in-person movie nights, but this was a fun event to keep our Family Movie Night tradition until then.
