You or someone you may know has likely experienced suffering or has felt emotionally overwhelmed. I endured immeasurable loss last year when my father passed away. During that time, I was blessed by being a recipient of the Meals Ministry at Westbrook Community Church. How amazing it is to have a group of individuals come alongside you during your time of hardship or transition. During that time of hardship, I asked God to help me develop an attitude of praise amid my sorrow and grief. I praised God for all the things that He has provided in my life. I praised God for allowing me to be a member of a community of believers who truly represent being the Hands and Feet of Jesus.
"Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2
As I am taking on the Meals Ministry at Westbrook, I want to call attention to those who may want to get involved and serve others in some way. Believe me, you don’t have to be a fancy cook to participate! You have to have the want and desire to bless others with a “hospitable spirit.” In essence, you see a need, and you readily jump in to help ease the burden, pain, suffering, or transitional life change your brother or sister in Christ is experiencing. I would never have understood how nourishing this ministry is if I hadn’t personally been a recipient of this ministry. Join me in being a blessing to others!
