Celebrating VBS

This year’s MEGA Sports Camp VBS was a huge success! What a blessing to be able to host our biggest outreach event within our own walls this year. We invited kids from our surrounding communities to join us for 4 days of sports, fun, snacks, worship, and learning. With the help of donations and an incredible team of volunteers, we were able to make VBS week memorable for all. A special thank you to our VBS meals team who supported our volunteers and their families with delicious dinners each day.

We had as many as 51 kids in attendance from Chaska, Victoria, Carver, Chanhassen, Waconia, and Eden Prairie. That was a huge reach into our surrounding communities! Kids had the opportunity to learn basketball, hockey, volleyball, cheer, or art with the help awesome volunteer coaches and teachers. Kids also enjoyed some yummy treats each day thanks to donations and our snack team who prepped them. Each evening, kids received a special message about how just like Jesus, we can have the Heart of a Champion.

During VBS we also like to teach the kids about how we can be a blessing to others. Each year we collect school supplies to donate to Love Inc’s Back to School Backpack Drive. This year the kids collected enough colored pencils and glue sticks to donate to over 100 kids in our school district, who are in need of supplies. We added some fun and excitement to celebrate this achievement, with staff and volunteer coordinators taking a cream pie to the face while confetti cannons burst.

That was not the only thing we celebrated on our last evening. On our last evening of VBS each year, as we wrap up an amazing week, we offer kids the opportunity to ask Jesus into their life. I am so excited and proud to report that we had 12 kids come to faith and ask for salvation for the 1st time, and 21 kids rededicate their lives to Christ.

Westbrook, we could not have done this without your support. Thank you for all you do!
