Building update

It is so easy to get excited about the construction of the church building, but we don’t want to forget the reason why we are building this building.

A few months ago, Tari Haunty, who is a member of the building committee, came up with an idea to place a Bible in the concrete of our new church. She knew of other churches that had placed a Bible in the concrete during their construction project, so she suggested to the building committee. It was a great idea - so we made plans to make that happen. Two weeks ago, we got the notice from Kinghorn Construction that the concrete was going to be poured inside the building, and we quickly delivered the Bible.

As you can see from the photo, the Bible was sealed in a glass container and placed in the foundation of the church building’s front entrance area. You can also see from the photo that the Bible is open. We have the Bible opened to the book of Matthew. Over the years, Kevin has shared Westbrook’s vision being a Matthew 25 and Matthew 28 church. So, not only is the Word of God our foundation – the Word of God is in our foundation.

Matthew 25: 35-36 For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; I was naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.

Matthew 28: 19-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
