While listening to songs we were going to play on Sunday, a lyric caused me to think about how God works in my life through music.
The song is Waymaker, by the Nigerian singer/songwriter Sinach (Osinachi Kalu Okoro Egbu), and the lyric is, “You are here, searching every heart...”
At that moment, I could feel God searching my heart and thought, “What will God find?” (I also had no idea why an image of anti-virus software searching a hard drive popped into my head, but that’s another story...)
The more I thought about it, the more I felt that the working of anti-virus software was a good analogy.
We all have a virus or two in our hearts, and, especially in my case, I’m not aware of them. When God searches my heart, I realize they are there. It’s up to me to get rid of them.
I guess that’s what being imperfect is all about. It’s a never-ending journey where we have the perfect tour guide: All-knowing, all-powerful, and completely forgiving.
